El rendimiento creciente del "Peque" se plasmó en los guarismos que fueron registrándose entre un set y otro, hasta terminar con una aplastante tercera manga que selló la victoria.
El argentino de 27 años, 20 en el ranking mundial, se había impuesto en la primera ronda al holandés Robin Haase (143) por 6-3, 7-6 (6) y 6-0.
Por su parte Guerásimov (129) había llegado a esta instancia luego de derrotar en su presentación al sudafricano Lloyd George Harris (100), por 7-5, 7-6 (5) y 7-6 (3).
